Oxford Male Academy. rIMIE Trustees of this institution have the sat isfaction to inform the public, that ihey have engoged the services of Mr. Thomas S. Arm strong, to preside in ihe Academy the ensuing year. Mr. Armstrong has heretofore been em ployed as a tutor in the University of North Ca rolina, and has exhibited to the Board, from President Caldwell and Professors Mitchell and ilooper, ample evidences of his standing as a man and as an instructor. The prices of tuition are the same as in neigh boring institutions; and board can be had at S3 per mouth, in the most respectable families. The School will be opened on the second Monday in January. (the second in the State for commercial importance and inland trade) is at present without a newspaper. An industrious young man, acquaiuted with the Printing business, and desirous of engaging in editorial life, by locating here, would be sure to meet with encouragement. The present proprietor having now no use for Ihe materials recently employed in printing a newspaper, in this town, will dispose of them for cash, or good notes, at a price far below their real value. The Press is an excellent one, of the Ramage make, and the Type, (varying in size from Brevier to S line Pica,) rules, leads, ornaments, &c. &c. are all in good order, and a portion of them is nearly new. N consequence of the inclemency of the wea ther, the sale of the Plantation and the iwo Negroes of Benjamin T. Stanton, which was to have taken place on the 6th inst. was postponed. To the Patrons of "The Constitutionalist and People's Advocate.3 f TTNPLEASANT as is the only alternative J now left to the present Editor of this paper, he is obliged to adopt it, and say to its friends, that its publication must be suspended for a few weeks. When he contracted with Mr. Ramsay for the materials in his office, and assumed the editorial duties of the paper, he supposed he was acquainted with all the incumbrances upon the? Establishment; but, since then, other very em barrassing Deeds of Trust upon it have come to his knowledge far exceeding in the asjnegato the sum he was to give lor the entire concern. Heside this, the holders of said Trusts have con cluded to place the materiils under the hammer, and in separate parcels, a month hence. In this posture of affairs, he owes it to himself not to publish the Paper again until the conflicting ti tles to the Press and type are put at rest, or he can procure others, in their place, equally good Raleigh, 1st Jan. 183.
