Mr. Henry Herbert Pope, a for mer resident of this town, but now agent for A. C. L. R. R. Co. at Autryville, N. C., and Miss Fannie Bonner Ellison.one of Williamston's sweetest young ladies, were united in Holy Matrimony Tuesday morn ing. 7:30 o'clock at the Methodist Efitscnpal Church. South, by Rev. T. H. Sutton. The church was prettily deco ratnl with potted plants and ever greens. Promptly at half-past seven the Initial couple entered the church and were preceedcd to the alter by the ushers and bride's maid. The wedding march was superbly ren dered by Mrs. W. H. Crawford. During the ceremony the couple stood under an arch made of ever greens and chrysanthemums, a horse shoe made of chrysanthe mums was suspended from the arch. The bride wore a handsome tailor made suit of Brown Cloth,with hat and gloves to match, and carried a lovely bouquet of carnations, chry santhemums and ferns. The bride's maid was Miss Rosa mand Pope, sister of the groom. The ushers were Messrs. W. E. [ Roberson. of Pinner's Point. Va.. I nephew of the bjide, and J no. E. Pope, brother of the groom. There was an unusually large crowd in attendance at tbe church to m fracas this popular young couple biade man aad wife. Mr. and Mrs. Pope,left on the tidy train for Xutryvflle, their fu ture home. He will run his thresh iug machine with srme. Mrs. X M. Worsley and daugh ter. Mrs. T. A. Wiggins, went out driving in Tarboro some days ago, aud the horse became frightened and ran away. Mrs. Worsley was thrown out of the buggy; her arm was croken. She is now in the hos pital at that place. The engine at Messrs S. W' Cas per & Bro 's mill ran away for a short while last week. The band that was running the saw broke end in flying back it struck the government hand breaking it. Before the throttle could be shut off the engine was leaving the miil pretty rapidly. Mr. J. D. Cox.of Hobgood, came down Friday and had his brother's remains dug up "from tbe White burst buriaf grounds and carried to Hobgood and buried at his home. Mr. Cox's brother was killed at Hobgood four years ago by a train and was brought here to be buried with his father.
