BL'KKKD NEARLY TO DEATH » Monday night about sc o'clock, Bernard Hines, aged seven years., son of Mr. Jno. L. Hines, was severely burned by the ex plosion of about one-half of powder. The powder was left from Thanksgiving Day's sporting and placed in the hall rack where Bernard kept his school books. After supper Bernard -lighted a piece of lightwood a|id went to the rack for his pencils when a spark fell into the powder, which caused the explosion. His face, neck and hands were badly burnt.
