Jn re ' spouse we wish to say that Wool 1 ard's No. 4, of Bear Grass Town s ship has furnished since the above named date teachers, pne of whom is now a bookkeqier for the Bank of Fayetteville, N. C.. one a ■ graduate of Kentucky University; e one general manager of an instir r ance company at Petersburg, Va ; and one au efficient telegraph ojcr' 1 ator for the A. C. L. K. R. Co. There are others who have acquired sufficient book knowledge to teach school, but have accepted positions in other branches of industry. This - we insist should be credited to the • many who have so satisfactorily 1 filled the teacher's chair in this 1 school. Young ladies and gentle' . men, strive to reach that mark that *' the top round makes. We see no e reason why Martin should not rank s with any other county. We can if we try, if we try we will, so let's s prepare ourselves by applying. We t need not fear whether there is some t thing to do, but, whether we can do 1 it. These good old patriots who e are now holding the reins and driv t ing good government to every man's t door in the Old North State, will f some day fall asleep no more on this 1 earth to wake. Then, who will be able to take their places, those who E have never taken steps to advance 1 themselves in life? Every one says no, but those who have purchased the storm coat and gloves.
