Satuid.iy night about 12 30
o'c'ork. while I was locking for
iotne 111 known parties, I found the
boiler house of the Virginia C;rro
lina Peanut Company on fire I
gave the alarm, and before we
cou'd turn the hose on the fire had
reached to the main building. The
fire caught over the-boiler and had
not been burniug but- a few hiin
iites. I used Several buckets of.
water before the fire department!
arrived, but was unable to save the
bulling. The building being of
wood, burned very rapidly and \yas
consumed with other buildings. It
was the most destructive fire that
we have had in quite a while.
