Ad vertisers will also note change in the work for the week, and ■end matter in early. OUR THANKSGIVING Tjie days and months have pass ed according to the arrangement of nature, and we are again ap proaching the fruition of our hopes for a bountiful harvest. The seed planted by the hand of man, have, by the combina tion of air, sunshine and rain, brought forth the bud then the full ear till the fields have proven a veritiable garden of promise, and the soul of the husbandman has bursted forth in songs of re joicing. Throughout the length and breadth of the land, there is activity in field, factory and of fice and we are a people greatly blessed. For every blessing as individ uals and as a Nation, we are call ed upon to give thanks especially on Thursday next. The Chief Executive of the country has set apart the day for religious ob servance, asking that we offer praise to the Giver of the harvest for blessings of home and coun try. 'Tis the Nation's great holiday and millions of hearts will respond to the call to render thanks on that day. The material things of life we have bountifully—the gifts of a gracious King to his subjects, yet there are the more precious gifts of life, love, friends and health. These fill our hearts with sympathy for the poor and oppressed everywhere, and so we remember that near are those whose lives can be brightened on Thanksgiving Day, and in do this we are best giving thanks to the Father above, as he would have us do.
