E R. Edmondson, of Hassell. was in town Wednesday on bus iness. Hon. Harrv W. Stubbs spent Sunday at home, find returned to Raleigh Monday W. C. Manning went to Ral eigh Monday to attend the meet ing of the Anti-Saloon League and the Grand Lodge of Masons. • Frank F. Fagan was in town Sunday visiting his sister, Mrs. Rome Biggs. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar S. Ander son have returned from their wedding trip, and are at home, at the residence of Mrs. Wheeler Martin. Frank U. Barnes arrived from Pocomoke City, Md., yesterday, accompanied by his mother and sister. N B. A. Critcher has just return ed from a visit to friends in Maryland. Lee's Birthday. Many people have been vaccina ted so as to become immune from smallpox which is in several sec tions of the county. Pupils of the school here were not allowed to attend without a certificate showing that they had been vac cinated within the prescribed _ time. The Products Cement Co., of Wilmington, are putting in water and sewerage at the Farmers & Merchants Bank preparatory to the dental parlors of Dr. Cone and the rest rooms for visitors to the town. Hamilton Items Mr. and Mrs. Asa Johnson ar rived Thursday from Tarboro, where they were married on that day. Dr. B. L. Long went to Raleigh Monday. Dr. and Mrs. M. I. Fleming spent Wednesday in Rocky Mt. We are glad to see G. E. Hines out after a severe illness. Mrs. M. I. Fleming entertain ed the Bridge Club on Monday afternoon. John A. Ricker left Monday for New York after spending several months here. Harry Holiday had a stroke of paralysis on Sunday. Johnnie Rooks and W. N. Wors ley from Bethel spent Sunday here. Miss Myrtle Everett and Mr. Tom Hyman were married Sun day evening by the Rev. G. L. Rogers at the Baptist parsonage. Miss Addie Winders and Mr. Altxrt Holmes were married January 10th at the home of the bride's mother. Miss Annie May Davis enter tained quite a number of her little friends in honor of her 10th birthday. Delicious refreshments were served. She received many nice gifts.
