SEPTEMBER 20 - 1919' Registration dav here was quiet and without demonstration, j which is exactly the matter-of-1 t act and business like way our ! rien will take up arms against Germany when their time fumes. No, dear reader, the National highway road through Williams ton is not a matter of talk alone; it is coming The bridge that will cross the Roanoke at this point will be in coutse of construction bwfore long now The order by our goverment thai ■(> new buildings are to be erected during the war hits our tows a hard blow, for if there is anything we are in need of us additional houses for the new comers in our midst But Wil liamston and Martin County t-ees the purpose and realize the good to our Nation at this time to be had front such an order, and our town and county will . >b& to the letter. We are for jiny move or measure that will .strengthen the pressure now bearing so hard on German gov ernment by America Water Works and Sewerage Our City Fathers have taken the very wise and progressive step to authorize the issuance of #99.000 for water wwrks and a sewerage system for our town This ordinance holds Rood after due publication if no petitions are tiled agaitist same, and will expedite routine matters by ..voiding the necessity of an *: lection. Our opinion is that should an flection be necessary the bonds would carry overwhelmingly and i bond be issued at ones giving us what is needed and desired water and sewerage. When Williamston adds these two important features to its al ready modern town necessities she will be second to none and leader f many towns of like size in North Carolina.
