Upon roll call the same was unan imously passed, the vote living Ayes Five, Nays none. AN ORDINANCK Authorizing the issuance of Itonds of the Town of Williamston, North Carolina, in the aggregate sum of $77,000.00 for the pur|>ose of constructing a water supply sys tem in and for said Town. Whereas in the opinion of the Board of Town Commissioners of the Town of Williamston, North Carolina, it j> ljocessury to con struct a system for supplying wa ter in said municipality; and Whereas the construction of such wator supply system is a ne cessary expense of said municipali ty; and Whereas it will require $77,000. 00 to construct such warer supply system, Now Therefore Be It Ordained by the Commiss ioners of the Town of Willianutou in Martin County, North Carolina: Section I That for the purpose of constructing a system for sup plying water in said municipality there IK- issued the bonds of said municipality in the maximum principal amount of $77,000.00, Section 2. Said bonds shall l>ear interest at a rate not exceed ing six per centum per annum. Section 3. Said bonds shall ma ture within a period of thirty years, Section 4. That * tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest of said bonds shall be annually levied and collected, Section 5. That a statement of the debt of the munici pality hak Ix-eti filed with the Clerk pursuant to the Municipal Finance Act, 1917. and is open to public inspection. Section 6. The averaged assess ed valuation of property subject to taxation by the municipality for the three fiscal years in which tax e* wej-e last levied, as by said statement, is $919,363.00. Section 7. The amount of the net debt of the municipality out standing, authorized or to l>e au thorized, as shown by said state ment, including the bonds autho rized by this crdinance and a pro posed issue of $24,000.00 sanitary sewer I>onds, is $110,500.00. Section 8. That this ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its first publication, unless in the meantime a petition for its sub mission to the voters is filed under said Municipal Finance Act, 1917, and that in such even it shall take effect when approved by a majori ty of the voters of the municipality.
