BRING YOUR TOBACCO TO WILLIAMSTOK 182 PATIENTS WAITING I ADMISSION TO SANATORIUM - i • t l—tHrtiw AccNMditM Only 185 Sanatorium, Sept. 15.— The North Carolina Stat* Sanatorium has beds for only 185 patients. There are 182 tuberculosis persons now on the Sana torium waiting list. In order to ac comodate the persons waiting to be admitted to the Sanatorium practical ly every patient now at Sanatorium will have to leave before all the per sons on the waiting list can be ad mitted. i Most persons infected with active tuberculosis need at least six months and never less than three to four months of sanatorium treatment.' When this fact is taken into consider-' I ation it can be easily seen that it will be some months yet before the pa-' tients now waiting can be admit ted to Sanatorium with the present ac commodations. More space in order that the Sana torium may receive at as early a da e' as possible all applicants for treat-' ment, and keep the patients after ad mission until such a time that the doctors think safe for their relear-e, is' bedly needed at Sanatorium. _ A children's pavilion to take care 1 of at least fifty children patients is! much needed and will help to relieve the conditions at Sanatorium. At the' present time there are no special' provisions for the care of children infected with tuberculosis at the in stitution. If patients hav* to wcit so long to bo admitted, most of them will bo' getting worse wfeile they wait and by the time they get in they will be so sick they cannot be cured even by j sanatorium treatment. It is also hoped that all the larf;-' er counties will establish sanatorium? 1 ■ of their own so as to help relieve I the congestion at the State Sanator ium and so that their people can get to "take the cure" near thrir own hemes. COTTON MILLS ANNOUNCING RESUMPTION OF FULL TIMK CONTRACT I Raleigh, September 15. to reports from cotton manufacturing , centers, the curtailment program which has been effective among cot - • ton mills is abating and particularly if this true of the Carolinas, Said T. j W. Mills at « Greenville and Woodruff, South Caio lina are now oh full time and Green ville says that it will be only a very ' i short time before all mills in that 1 territory will be on full time. I "One significant fact is that the j power records of the Southern Power Company furnishing power for ap-t* proximatley 5,500,000 spindles, opef- j ated by 300 cotton mills, show that j the load has increased about nine pch j cent.
