Rocky Mount Fair
Starts Next Tuesday
The Rocky Mount Fair, which is one
of the leading fairs of the State, will
open next week. The program is a
little different from that of the Bo
aroke Fair and will be interesting to
all who attend, A list of the out
standing attractions will be found on
page two of this paper. Among the
leading ones are the visits of Senator
Heflin and Governor McLean.
E. Ramey is Champion
Tomato Grower Here
E. Ramey is the champion tomato
grower in Williamston, certainly on
a one-hill basis. He has a tomato
plant that is 10 1-2 feet high, and
has produced 34 well-matured toma
toes up to date, and now has four
dozen on it, ranging from almost ripe
down to just past the blossom state.
The tomato plant stands just in the
liar of Mr. ltamey's store on Main
'Street, and can "be seen at any time
by parties interested in tomato grow
ing.
Roberson— Manning
"Sunday evening at 6 o'clock, at the
home of the bride's parents, Mr. and
Mrs: "Ni R. • Manning in Griffins
township, Miss Reba Manning and Mr
(li o. R. Roberson, were united in
maniac* by Rev. A. , J. Manning,'
pjtstor and cousin, of the bride. The
attendants were Misses Myrtle Dan
iels, Fannie and Connie Robers'on and
Ruth Hardiijon, Messrs. Per lie Rob
erson, C. B. and Roy ColtraLn and
Oscar Roberson. The bridesmaids were
dressed, in the new fall shades and the
bride was 'very pretty in a dark en- j
senible- suit. j
Mrs. Roberson is the youngest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manning.
She is} a very fine young woman and
has numbers of friends in her com
munity. The groom is the only son
of Mr. and Mrs-Harmon Roberson and
is a very promising young man.
They will reside at the home of
Kr. and Mrs. Harmon Roberson until
their home is built. ~ -
