Bridge Party at
Woman's Club
Mrs. N. C. Green and Mrs. Charlie
James were hostesses at one of the
prettiest parties of the spring season
last Friday afternoon at the Woman's
Club. Mrs. Bernard W. Marchant, of
Richmond, who was their house guest,
was the guest of honor.
There were eleven table*, arranged
for bridge in the lobby,of the' Woman's
Club rooms and on each tfble were
dishes of salted nuts, attractive place
cards with green and white back
grounds indicated the places at the
tables. That color scheme was carried
out in the decorations, vases of lilies
of the valley beihg used In suitable
places.
The refreshments were green and
white ice cream with mints of the same
colors and cake. A bunch of lilies of
the valley was given each guest as
favors.
Mrs. K. B. Crawford niade high
score and was presented a refresh
ment set. The consolation prize, a
tape measure, went to* Mrs. Milton
Moye, and Mrs. Marchant was re
membered with a piece of dainty lin
gerie.

At a party given recently in La-
Grange, Mrs. D. W. Adams, sister of
Miss Wood, the announcement of the
approaching marriage of Miss Edna
Wood and Mr. Henry Leamon Barn
hill was made. The wedding will take
place the 7th of June, •
Miss Wood is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. D. W. Wood, and is a very
fine young woman. She was educat
ed at Atlantic Christian College,
where she met Mr. Barnhill, who was
also a student there.
Mr. Barnhill has made his home here
for the past two years, and is a mem
ber of the warehouse firm of Bennett,
Barnhill & Veasey. They will make
their home here, where they are pre
paring to build.
