Nelson-White Hobgood, July 2.—The marriage of Miss Susie Gray White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Preston White, to Robert Burton Nelson, son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Nelson of Robersonville, took place Thurs day evening at 8 o'clock in the Hob good Methodist church, with the Rev. E. L. Hillman, of Greenville, officiating, asisted by the Rev. Mr. Black, pastor of Hobgood, Methodist church. The nuptial music was beautifully rendered by Miss Bessie Futrell, of Scotland Neck, (rianist, Miss Jen nette Wedmore, of Richmond. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her father, William Preston White, wore a gown of powder blue chiffon, trimmed in silk net, with blue slippers to match. Her costume was completed with an exquisite shower bouquet of lilies of the valley and sweet peas. Her only ornament was a platinum and diamond brooch, gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Gilbert Smith, of Robersonville, -as best man. Miss Hellene White, sister of the bride, as maid of honor wore a beau tiful gown of pink moire taffeta and carried an armful of pink giadiolas and sweet peas. The other attendants were as fol lows: Mrs. William I*. White, Jr., sister-in-law of the bride, in yellow chiffon organdie, with Mrs. Julian Thomas, of Portsmouth, Va., sister of the bride, in shell pink chiffon, Mrs. John Humber White, sister-in law of the bride in pink chiffon or- gandie with Mrs. Joseph H. Mason, of Greensboro, sister of the bride, in pink crepe and chiffon. Little Joseph Mason, Jr., carried the ring in a large calla lily. Grimes Beverly and Irving Taylor, of Bethel, acted as ushers. j A reception at the home of the bride's parents followed the cere mony.
