The porch was beauti fully decorated with a profusion of cut flowers and ferns. Misses Lucy Gray Martin and Margaret Ange pre sided at the punch bowl, which was attractively arranged to represent an old-time well. A color scheme of pink and green was carried out in the decorations and shaded lights. Fan tallies were presented the guests to find their places at five tables. After four spirited progressions, top score was awarded Edith Stallings and bill Harrison. Boobies were present ed Kathleen Wallace Lilley and Phil ip Blount. Those attending were: Misses Fan nie L. Mr. Ira Ainsley has returned from Chapel Hill, where he attended the first session of the University of North Carolina summer school. Mr. and Mrs. Winstead, of Wash ington, were visitors in town Friday. Mr. Francis Brown, who has been visiting his father,, Mr. N. F. Brown, returned to Kentucky Monday. Mrs. Woolard Daniel and little son of Rocky Mount, spent last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hines. Mrs. Jennie Grey Johnson, ofi Washington,-was the guest of Mrs. H. M. Ainsley Sunday.
