Mrs. SaJiie Bunting Funeral Held Last Thursday in Bethel Sister of Mrs. R. J. Nelson Of Robersonville; Many Attend Final Rites PiAeral service* for Mr*. SalUe Bunting, 88, were conducted last Thursday afternoon at 3:30 at the Bethel Methodist church by the pas tor, Rev. W. L. Clegs, assisted by Rev. J. O. Long, of Weldon, and Rev Leslie Newman, pastor of the Beth el Baptist church. Interment was made in the Bethel cemetery. Mrs. Bunting, prior to her marri age, was Miss Sallie Taylor, daugh ter of the late Burton H. Taylor and Martha Mayo Taylor, of Edge combe County. In January, 1888, she married the late John R. Bunt ing, of Bethel, who died in June, 1831. In early life Mrs. Bunting joined the Methodist church and was a loyal and faithful member, rarely ever being absent from a service. She entered whole-heartedly into the various activities of the church and the community in which she lived. Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. H. /V. Stalon, Mrs. D. C. Car son, Mrs Claude James, and Miss rhelma Bunting, of Bethel; and five tins, Z. V., S. G , J. B., and Vernon Bunting, of Bethel; and Alvin Bunt ng, of Greenville; two brothers, W. W. Taylor and R. I. Taylor, of Beth el; and one sister, Mrs. R. J. Nelson, jf Robersonville. , A large delegation of friends and relatives from here attended the fu neral and listed among the honor ary pall-bearers was Mr. W. H. Ad kins, a friend of the family. Brown Was Well Known and Be loved Resident of Robersonville Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie A. Brown, well-known and beloved | resident of Robersonville, were con ducted from the home of her daugh ter, Mrs. R. S. Everett, at 3 o'clock I Monday afternoon with interment | following in the Eveiett cemetery Elder W. S. Grimes, pastor of the I Flat Swamp Primitive Baptist I church, conducted the services, as sisted by Elders B.. S. Cowen and | A. B Ayers. Mrs. Brown died Sunday morning after being confined to her bed fot eight weeks following a long period of ill health. She was 74 years old and prior to her marriage was Miss Fannie Moore, daughter of the late Worrell and Sally Ann Moore, of Pitt County. In 1883 she married Alexander Brown, who died Febru ary 2,. 1893. The deceased was a member of the Flat Swamp church, and for the past several years she has been liv ing here with her daughter. Mrs. Callie Roberson. Surviving her are five daughters: Mrs. Callie Roberson, Mrs R. S. Everett and Mrs. H. B. Roberson, of Robersonville; Mrs C. A. Warren, of Stokes; and Mrs. J.' L. Peel, of Baltimore; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Woolard, of Richmond; and Mrs. H. I. Brown, of Robersonville. She has 18 grandchildren. Active pall-bearers were: Lester and Claude House, David Whitfield, Z. D. F. White, Bennie Moore and Sam Lilley, all members of her church. Flower bearers were grandsons and granddaughters of the deceased. Ford V-8 Dealers StfoiKor Programs The "Ford V-8 Review,?' spon sored by Ford Motor Company deal ers throughout the United States, went on the air Monday, April 13. This program, featuring the "Ford Rhythm Orchestra," will be heard over 339 stations at various times during days and evenings for 13 weeks. Headlining the program are "Hap py Hamilton"?a tenor with an in ternational reputation?whose iden tity has not been revealed, and the popular "Do-Re-Mi" girl trio, favor ites of radio fans throughout the country. Electrical transcriptions are being used for 15-minute programs over these stations in the Norfolk Branch area of the Ford Motor Company; Amount of Manure For Home Garden The amount of manure to be ap plied to the home garden plot of XHirse depends upon the size of the plot, but on soils of average fer tility, about 10 two-horse wagon loads should be used to the acre. Dne load, therefore, would cover a space approximately SO by 100 feet. Be sure that the manure is well rot ted before applying. Where it is desirable to use a combination of manure and superphosphate for the garden soil the 10 loads of manure should be supplemented with from two to three bags of superphosphate.
