Listing Work Gets Underway In Two of Ten Districts Today (Continued from page one) pound Milk cows art* to carry a value of $50 against $30 last year. Beef cattle are to be listed at four cents instead of three cents. Horses are to be valued at $150 as against $100 last year. The value of soybeans was advanced from 60 cents to $1 a bushel. Peanuts were jumped from $2 to $3 a bag and cotton was upped $10 a bale to $40 New tractors are to be valued at $100 less purchase price. Old trac tors will be placed on the books at $100 less for the first year and graduated down. Escapes Injury In Lust Old-Year Wreek In (bounty . HlfWy"Harper, Plymouth colored man, escaped injury when he lost control and tin ned John Gardner s car over on the Roberson curve near Gardner's Creek, last Friday after noon. Harper, the last 1939 victim of a wreck in the county, was found not guilty of reckless driving - by Judge H. O. Peel in the county re corder's court yesterday. The car, driven down to this sec tion by Gardner from New York, was not badly damaged, reports stat ed. Mi. and Mrs. J. C. Anderson and ?laughter, Isabella, returned last week-end from a visit with Mr. and Mrc Phnrle'w Whitley in Atlanta.
