Club Participating In Flotcer Context By LOl'IE P. MARTIN Pre*. The Williamston Woman'? Club has been invited to enter the contest in the selection of an appropriate and representative flower for the Gen eral Federation of Women's Clubs. This flower must be one not chosen by a State Federation The selection by the individual states of an official flower has been in progress for nearly fifty years, until now practically each state has an official flower, this includes the District of Columbia, Hawaii and Alaska. North Carolina has no offi cial flower. Perhaps by common con sent the ox-eyed daisy has b?-en des ignated as our State flower It has been said that the seed of this daisy were broadcast through the State in the feed for the horses of Sherman's triumphant army North Carolina is one of the richest floral States in the Union and it does seem a shame that we have no offi cial flower that is truly representa tive of the State. The North Caro lina Federation of Women's Clubs has officially selected a pine sprig and cone as their emblem, which represent beauty and strength. Every Woman's club in every State Federation is being asked to enter this flower contest to select an offi cial flower for the Gederal Federa tioi. a flower which will 'typify the Latest Addition* To The Enterprise Moiling List Lasted amonf the recent additions to the Enterprise mailing Hat are the following: ?
