L Williams, president of the Fifteenth district of North Caro lina Women's Clubs, was present for the monthly meeting of the local club. This meeting was held on Wed nesday in the club rooms with about seventy-five people present, includ ing members of the Senior and Jun ior clubs and other guests. The choral club gave two num bers in their very capable manner and Miss Grace Talton, of the local schools, gave a delightful instru mental solo. The program was m charge of the American Citizenship ana Public Welfare Committee, Mrs. N. C. Green, chairman, who introduced Mrs. Williams to the club. The dis trict president in a very gracious manner commended the club on the good work it has done in the past; congratulated same on having paid its foundation fund in full; praised our choral club and the outstanding work done by the club reported by the club last year, this being instruct ing safety to 3.000 school children. Mrs. Williams advised that the State Convention of N. C. clubs would be held in Greensboro on May 1. 2 and 3. She touched on the fact that this is the Golden Jub 1 lee year of the geheral federation, being its 50th birthday, and urged that we select our three pioneer women who have been outstanding in our club since its organization and report same to headquarters. She then, gave us a few words on American Citizenship and Public Welfare, bringing in the program on Highway Safety and the Child Wel fare Work that has been carried on this year. Her talk was very much enjoyed by all present. The social committee served hot tea and wafers at the end of the bus iness meeting.?Reported. Visits Here Wednesday Mrs. L. V.
