Bride-Elect Honored
Miss Josephine Harrison, bride
elect of October 16, was extended
another compliment Friday night
when Mrs. David Modlm entertained
at five tables of bridge at her home
on Haughton Street.
Roses and dahlias were used in
artistic arrangements throughout the
rooms where play was in progress.
Bobby Manning passed the bridal
tallies to the guests and Mrs. Rob
ert Manning assisted in serving.
Miss Harrison was given silver in
her chosen pattern. Mrs. C. H. God
win, Jr . captured the high score
award, dusting powder, and the
traveling prizeT handkerchiefs, and
Mrs W H. Coburn received the
consolation prize, a box of candy.
A color scheme of green and white
was carried out in the bridal mold
?<i ice cream and decorated cakes.
Mints and salted almonds were also
served During play, Mrs. Modlin
served soft drinks.

The lovely home was particularly
attractive in its decorations. Flow
ers carried out the color schemes in
the various rooms. In the living
room yellow roses and yellow and
brown dahlias were used. Bowls of
red roses and white chrysanthemums
were placed in the dining room. Rose
gladioli and zinnias were effective
against the gray background in the
hall and in the den and breakfast
room, red dahlias and bitter sweet
were attractively arranged. On the
punch table, bitter sweet and ivy
were interlaced

tin with gardenias in her hair; Miss
Taylor, a green crepe gown and a
talisman rose corsage and Miss Man
ning's gown was of soldier blue with
a red rose corsage. The honoree won*
a yellow and gold gown and her cor
sage was of talisman roses. Mrs
Dunn, a bride of the summer chose
a white dress with yellow roses and
Mrs. N. R. Manning, a recent bride
wore a yellow and black taffeta gown
with red roses.
Mrs. W. H. Crawford, who was al-1
so honored, it being her 66th birth
day. served punch during the eve
ning. She was assisted by Mrs. N. R.
Manning
After four progressions of bridge
Mrs. G. H. Harrison, Jr., was pre
sented high score, a sewing kit. Mrs.
Francis Barnes was given sachet
powder for second high and Mrs
Henry Harrison received a box of
soap for consolation. The honoree
was given silver in her selected pat
tern.
A salad course with beaten biscuits
and ham sandwiches and tea was
served by the hostesses. After this
Miss Harrison was presented a show
er of presents from those attending.
She received many lovely gifts in
linen, crystal, china and silver.
