Muriel Wynne, president of the Juniors, opened the meeting with the first venae of the "Star Spangled Banner." Margaret Johnson read a short poem. Lula Purvis Gray gave a short his tory of Columbus and his discovery. After this talk, everyone sang the first verse of America. Then Mrs Charlie Davenport gave a reading. The meeting was closed by every one singing "God Bless America." The cere mony was performed -before the families and a few friends, with the Rev W R. Dixon officiating. Hie church was simply but beau tifully decorated with pines, ferns, candelabra and baskets of chrysan themums A short program of wed ding music was rendered by the bride's aunt, Mrs. J H. Cutchin, of Whitakers. The bride entered to the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrin and the wedding march from Mendelssohn was played dur ing the recessional. She was given in marriage by her brother, G. Edmund Pendleton, Jr She wore a dress of soldier blue crepe with full gored skirt and matching bolero jacket with long tight-fitting sleeves and a wine off The-face hat with short veil. Her ac cessories were wine, and her flow ers were a Colonial bouquet of talisman roses Accompanying the bride as her 1 maid of honor was her sister, Miss Alice Mae Pendleton, dressed in a silk gaberdine dress made princess style with short jacket trimmed with velveteen Her accessories were black and she carried a bouquet of pink roses. Janus Williams, of Williamston. attended Mr. Stalls as best man. and ushers were Carroll Jones, of Wil- ! liamston, and Harry L Allsbrook. j of Portsmouth, Va. Mrs. Stalls is the lovely brunette daughter of Mr. and Mrs Cohuge Edmund Pendleton of Scotland Nock. She received her education in the Scotland Neck High School and Peace Junior College, Raleigh. She is at the present time-'employ ed by the Farm Security Adminis tration in the Williamston office. Mr. Stalls is the son of Mrs. D. D Stalls and the late Mr. Stalls, of Williamston. He was reared in Wtl liamston, receiving Ins education in the Williamston High School. He holds a responsible position with the Martin Supply Company in Wil liamston. Immediately after the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Stalls left for a trip through Virginia, after which they will be at home on Watts Street in Williamston. Following the rehearsal on Fri day night, an informal reception was held at the home yf the bride's parents, honoring the bridal party and out-of-town guests.
