Barley Produce* Pork Of An Excellent Quality Pound for pound barley is not as efficient as corn but barley does pro duce pork of excellent quality. It "does"not pay lb grind corn for hogs but it does pay to grind barley and the grinding increases its feed value by 17 per cent. If barley is substitut ed for corn as hog feed, extension swine special Ellis Vestal, recom mends that 120 pounds of the whole barley replace 100 pounds of shell ed corn. Because of the usual droughts in summer, it may be well to plant some barley this fall for hog feed next year.
