We pledged allegiance to the American flag and repeated the pi< amble of the Constitution of the Am erican Legion Auxiliary. After this, the president led in prayer. Seven members were 'present to approve the minutes as read by th? secretary and to discuss the busi ness of the Auxiliary. A letter from state headquarters was lead so that we-eould' find what was required of this organization in the coming year, i It was leanied that a North Caio < lina flag was expected of us After discussing several ways of raising money to pay for the mater-1 lal for the flag, it was decided to sell small sewing kits. Then Margaret Johnson, program chairman for this month, gave the following program on "Legislature":! "The Constitution of North Carolina I and Its Government," by Margaret | Johnson. Lula Purvis Gray talked t about "North Carolina Labor Laws.' "The Progress Made by Public j Schools During the Term of Gover- j nor Hoey", and "Legislative Events" j of North Carolina by Murriel Wynn "The Old North Stale" was sung in j unison. Then the program chairman gave a summary of the United States ] legislative acts of the last session of Congress. Together we sung. The Star-Spangled Banner." Whichard, is a former em ployee of Standard Fertilizer Com puny here, and is now located in Pitt County. Mr. and Mrs. Whichard will live in one of the apartments over Eagle's store.
