Five Threes
3 pts water
3 c sugar
3 lemons
3 oranges
3 bananas
3 c grated pineapple
Boil water and sugar together 5
min. Cool and add fruit pulp and ex
tracted juice. Place in refrigerator
to freeze. Stir several times
throughout freezing if convenient
Frozen Fruit Salad
1-2 c diced oranges
1-2 c diced pineapple
1-2 c diced peaches
1 c mayonnaise
1-2 c diced grapefruit
1-2 c cherries
Juice of 1 l^moH ?
1 c whipped cream
1-2 c diced pears
Mix fruit, lemon juice, mayonnaise I
and whipped cream. Freeze ahout ]
three hours.
Peppermint Stick Candy Cream
1-4 lb. or 1 c crushed peppermint
stick candy
1 1-2 c coffee creanv
1 1-2 c top milk
1-16 tsp salt
Dissolve candy in hot milk Add
salt, coffee cream and pour into
freezing tray. Freeze until quite
firm, then remove to mixing bowl
and beat with electric mixer until
mix is light and creamy (Don't ov
or whip). Return to* freezing tray |
quickly and allow to finish freezing
Note: This can be made without I
cream, using top milk if desired. A |
dessert most acceptable to children
Serve with chocolate .sauce.
Chocolate Sauce
1 e sugar
1 e evaporated milk
?t 2 r tight Torn syrup
3 sq. bitter chocolate
1-4 c water
1 tsp vanilla
Melt chocolate Add sugar and syr ]
up Blend thoroughly; add water
Cook to soft ball stage. 235 (leg. F.

vanilla. This can be kept in a closed
jar in refrigerator as long as desir

1 ? v butter ?
2 c brown sugar
3 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c c hopped nuts ,
Melt butter, add sugar and cook
slow l> until well blended. Allow to
cool Combine eggs, vanilla with
jbuttci mixture Add dry ingredients
and beat well Pack in tray and place
.in refrigerator to chill. Cut in thin
slices as needed. Place on greased
cookie shcef and bake in 4(H)* oven
8 to 10 minutes
