Miu Lillian Breen, for several years associated with the Enterprise Publishing Company, has accepted a position with the government in Washington City. She left for the capital last Saturday. ROBERSONGURGAMS Miss Janie A. Gurganus, daughter of Mrs. Robert Gurganus and the late Mr. Gurganus, and John B. Rob erson, of this city, were married Sun day morning at 9:30 at the home of the bride's parents. Rev. W. B. Har rington, of Piney Grove Baptist Church, was the officiating minis ter. The vows were spoken in the living room before an altar of ferns, white lilies and white chrysanthe mums. The bride wore a dress of sol dier blue with black accessories. Her shoulder corsage was of yellow roses. Mrs. Roberson attended the local high school and has been employed by the Roses' stores for several years. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claudius Roberson, of this city. He graduated from the Farm Life school and has been affiliated with the Roberson's Slaughter House for several years. After the ceremony the couple left for a short wedding trip to unannounced points They will be at home with -the bride groom's parents after December 17. SPONSORS SQUARE DANCE The Jamesville Parent-Teacher as sociation will give a square dance in the gymnasium at Jamesville Thurs day night, December 18th, at eight o'clock. The Gurganus Brothers will furnish the music. A small admission will be charged. This is the third of a series of dances. The others have been well attended and were quite enjoyable. Happenings In The JamesviUe School The seniors presented a play, "The Ghost of Roaring Pines" last Friday evening at 8 o'clock. The play waa attended and enjoyed by a large crowd. The sale of Christmas Seals is the best in the history of this school. The school will easily reach its quo ta. Exams will start Wednesday of this week. Students are being urged to improve their scholastic standing by studying as much as possible. The boys and girls basketball teams of this school will meet the teams of Bear Grass in the local gym Friday night, beginning at 8:00 o'clock. The local teams have new uniforms. The girls' suits are white, trimmed in red. and the boys' uni forms are red, with white trimmings. The agriculture department is sponsoring a course in mechanical engineering, under the direction at defense officials. The glee ciuo will present a Christ mas pageant Friday evening at 7:30 \ o'clock. The club is directed by Mrs.! Effie Holliday and Miss Grace Rog ers. "Zero" iioliidsy, freshman at N. C. State College, and star of last year's local team, is visiting here for a few days. ?
