Bennett announces the marriage of her daughter, Nina Louise, to Harry Jordan Smith, on Friday evening, August 14th, at 7:30 o'clock in the home of Justice and Mrs. C. B. Riddick in Everetts, North Carolina. Justice Riddick performed the ceremony in the presence of a few friends of th> families. Mrs Smith is the attractive young daughter of Mrs. Bennett and the late Mr. Bennett, of near William ston. She attended the local schools and has many friends in this section. Mr. Smith is the son of Mrs. Enoch Smith, of Handsom, Va., and the late Mr Smith. He has made his home here for the past few years Mr. and Mrs. Smith will make their home with the bride's mother for the present. > Leave for Jacksonville Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Local Young Man Wins Promotion In Air Corpa In ? letter Mr. J. E. Pope received from his son, John, Jr., a volunteer in the Naval Air Corps, the young gentleman told of his promotion from second class seaman to avia tion cadet. John left here about six weeks ago and was immediately sent to the University of Georgia, Athens, where he has been enrolled in pre-flight school. And with his completion of that training, he re ceived his deserved reward: promo tion to aviation cadet. ?
