Esi^osion
On last Thursday at Mr. M. T.
WiUiams & Son^s mill about four
miles from town the cylinder-head
of an engine blew out, completely
wrtecking the entire shed and injur
ing one, a colored woman, who was
under the shed at the time of the
explosion, and was blown from un
der the shed about twenty feet
against a pile of lumber, her head
striking against the sharp edges of
the lumber produced severe, scalp
wounds, and rendered her uncon
scions fot about two hours. Dr.
E. G. Moofb, who was called in gave
her the necessary medical irtteation
and at last aceooats she was doing
well.
Concert 2A. the Academy

One of the most interesting games
of baseball of the season was played
here by the first and second nines of
Elm City. The manner in which the
secocd nine acquitted themselves is
indeed worthy of praise. Barrett
and Chick as battery for the second
did excellent work, and in faet all
the boys did welL The first nine
shoald take a moj^h off ^nd leam
to play ball before entertaining the
idea of joining the league (T). The
score was 13 to 10, in favor of the
second nine.
The 1st and 2nd- nines played
another game liere Thursday, the
score resulting as before, in favor of
the 2nd nine. Score, 18 to 13.'
We understand the 3rd nine of
small boys have challenged the 1st
nine of this place. This is not quite
fair, the 3rd nine boys should let the
1st practice some before challenging
them.
Littie Hope
For the fiatrfooted grirl there is
little hope. Very old persons whose
muscles are almost dormant and who
have difficulty in walking have the
flat-footed habit. For a girl to walk
flat-foottd is almost sinful, as it
indicates a phlegmatic, heavy, care
less disposition.
The girl who walks flat footed
rarely wears good shoes and isu’t
likely to be well dressed. The flat-
footed girl is inclined to drag her
feet along as if they were too heavy
to lift. Generally the flat-footed
girl develops into a fat woman. She
is never graceful.

Hair Falls
“I tried Ayer’s Hair Vigor to
stop my hair from falling. One*
half a bottle cured me.”
J. C. Baxter, Braldwood, 111.
Ayer’s Hair Vigor is
certainly the most eco

kind on the market. A
little of it goes a long way.
It doesn’t take much of
it to stop falling of the
hair, make the hair grow,
and restore color to gray
hair.
