Wanted?to hear from some; farmer who's making money on truck this season. At the present rate of settle ment of the utilities problem in j Elizabeth City, the process of making new streets from old J tires should have been complete- ! ly perfected by the time we lay any new paving. In ten years the farmer i? to j come into his own, according to j Sears, Roebuck & Company. But j what gives us immediate con-' cern is to know what he's going to do between now and then. The suggestion of Mr. Hooper of Stumpy Point as to the ad vantages that would accrue to Elizabeth City through the building of roads on the Daro County mainland is worth seri ous consideration. Elizabeth1' City must not neglect any op- i portunity to make itself morel accessible to its trade territory. CurritUckians living at Mo yock and beyond it generally had the habit of going to Nor-, folk to trade until the Pasquo-| tank River State Bridge roadj was paved. Then they began toi come to Elizabeth City. But the! hazard of passage over this | State highway during high tide, which the high winds of the past three months has made! a matter of frequent occurence,! is said to be diverting themj from the good habit of coming to Elizabeth City before it was firmly fixed.
