A. N. Winslow of Belvldere and J. W. Ballance of Shi loh were among the out-of-town shoppers in the city Friday. AYDLETT FRIENDS SAY ELEVEN COUNTIES HIS Ahoskle, May 31.?Friends and supporters of E. F. Aydlett, of Eliza beth City, say he will be the leading candidate for the Democratic nomin ation for Congress in the First Dis trict when the ballots are counted Saturday night, June 7. Furthei more, they say he will carry bv^ry one of the 14 counties In the district except the three counties in which his opponents live. "Confidently, Mr. Aydlett expects to get two votes from Beaufort County for every one vote Mr. War ren gets from Pasquotank," is the word that comes from his workers this week. They say further, "Mr. Aydlett's friends have not been boasting?they have never believed in trying to fool any one, and have therefore waited until they could sound out the people and pretty clearly ascertain how matters stand."
