Primary please you? Did your man win? Business of extending con gratulations to Aubrey .Mc Cabe on McLean's fine vote in Pasquotank. Nice to have a day of rest af ter the primary, but mighty tough to find no barber shop op en and the eating places all closed up. If gubernatorial primaries came more often, we little news paper men out in the sticks would get on to how to handle 'em. And most of us would go broke. Many thanks for the expres sions of appreciation coming I our way for the extra issued by The Advance Sunday morrtiny.; It gave to Elizabeth City later! returns than any other newspa per reaching the city until Mon day. Change in System Needed The Advance did its best to give the Old Home Town real service on primary night, and but for the slow count of re turns in this and other counties would have given as complete figures in its extra Sunday morning as are given today. But here in Elizabeth City, for instance, it was midnight Before the First Ward poll hold ers began counting the State ticket. It seems to The Advance that arrangements ought to be made whereby two or more tickets can be counted at the same time. For instance, if somebody had begun counting the State ticket in the First Ward at the same! time that the County ticket wan begun, both tickets could have been finished by midnight. And while these tickets were beinj: counted the State Senate and Congressional tickets could also have been counted some one! else. Perhaps there is no way to do this under existing law biv what's to hinder changing a law that becomes *outworn and out of date. PHONE 114 Standard Pharmacy THEY WILL SEND IT.
