ends. They were out of the lead

seasons. The record is based on
week end standings because that
is the only test of consequence,

upon the standings of the team*

generally ends on a week end.
After they took the lead in
1921, largely as a result of ad
ministering five straight defeats
to the league leading Pittsburgh
