This is not right, certainly not, but the ladies see tbe article they want adertised by Bloomingdale, Wanamaker or some ether firm and they order. If the Flymourh merchants kept what they have to sell advertised perhaps this ordering business would be less extensive, and they would doubtless receive orders from other places. See. A BEACON REPORTER VISITS THE EASTER CELEBRATIONS AT ST. DAVID'S, AND THE ADVENT : AT ROPER.-; t St, David's Churcit. , ' Services were held in this church on Easter Day with a large congrega tion in attendance. She church was beautifully decorated with flowers, and the services rendered ' according to this High Festival were engaged in with true devotion. : la the afternoon the Sunday School had its Easter celebration, which was a joyful occasion. The classes entered the church in proces sion with banners, singing "Onward Christian Soldiers" in unison with the music rendered br the efficient organist. After a short devotional service and an address by the rector, the Easter offerings for missions were presented, and cards delivered to each pupil, all departing, it ia hoped, with the impression that Easier teaches not only the rWurec- tion of the body hereafter, but that of the spiritual life at present. Church of Advevt, Hopes. . On 1st Sunday after Easter an unusual large congregation met in this beautiful church and participa ted heartily in the . services of the Church still dwelling upon the glori ous subject of the resurrection. The sacred appearance of the sanctuary was ever increased by the prolusion oi exquisite nowers piacea upon the alter and elsewhere, beauti ful to the Bight and suggestive to the mind and heart ef the glorious trans formation of our bodies and spirits for eternity. The Easter celebration of the Sunday School was postponed for a week, in consideration of the rector's monthly appointment, there by affording him the pleasure of participating in the exercises. ' At 3:30 p. m., the ainerent classes consisting in all of seventy-three EupiiB, entered tne cnurcn wun eautiful banners, each pupil also with an appropriate badge, singing the processional hymn to the notes of the organ. A Bhort service was held by the rector, assisted in music by the devoted and invaluable organ ist. The children were catechised bv the rector, followed by a logical and valuable adelross from the earnest and benificent superintendent, Mr. T. W. Blount, concluding with his presentation of a valuable banner to the prize class. The appropriate re SDonse of the little girl receiving it for her class was impressive. Ihe superintendent then presented to each pupil a very neat Easter card. The offerings of tbe school for mis sions wero twenty-eight dollars. ' DIED -On Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at his Bon's residence in this town, Mr. James Harrison, aged 71 years, two months. ; ; . ' The deceased had been a sufferer from heart disease for many years, and for the past three months had been confined to his. room. ' He re ceived the best medical attention to be had, but all was in vain, and re lief came only in death. Mr. Harrison was a good citizen, a kind father, and a loving husband, and his death was a sad blow to his numerous friends and relatives, but the life he lived consoles the berea ved, for they know that his faith in God was all-sufficient to make the life hereafter peace aud happiness. The remains wero interred in the family burying ground near town, on Saturday at 3 o'clock. We join the host of friends in ex tending to the bereaved wife, child ren, brothers and sisters, our heart felt symp thie in their loss. We know a certain young man'4 heart in our town wan made glad by the appearance oft Miss E. Mr. A. O. Walker, accompanied by bis wife and amiable daughter.
