Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Gaylord lost their little seven-months-old boy by death a few days ago. Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Jones also lost theirs about the same age. ..These pa rents have the sympathy of tne community. Roper Masonio Lodge will bold a public installation of offloers on the night of the 24th 'in Blount's hall, after which an ice Team supper will be served for the benefit f the Oxford Orphan Asylum. .Let every body attend. Howell returned home this evening from a trip to Chooowinity, where he went to attend the commencement. Mes9. 11 D. Walker and E. J. Nixon returned home on the 8th inst., from the University where they have been attending school. - . Mr. J, F, Belanga has rented Capt- B. F. Spruill's residence, and moved his family in last week, .We are glad to see our town increasing. . . Prof. Sanderlin was in town on the 8th with his Phonograph., and gave an enter taiument at the Academy Saturday night. Quite a number were out.
