Cooper who wert charged with arson at Wilson, re sulted in a verdict of not guilty, and that the gentlemen were fully ex honorated by the court and people. It is unfortunate that innocent men Bhould have 4 to suffer the hu miliation of such a charge, and more so when the newspapers of the State publish the fact that such charges have been made, and even comment upon the probable guilt of the par ties and then fail to publish the facts after the trial, or even refer to it. V. Hassell, Jr., who qualified, and the Board proceeded to business by calling on the Treasurer and ex-Superintendent for their reports, which were in due time rendered.
