Patrick, a Promiment iar- mer of the Scuppernong section of this County, was instantly killed Tuesday afternoon by an automobile driven by Mr. White of Columbia. From what we can gather it appears that school had just let out, and number of the children were on their way home, play ing and frolicking with each other when Mr. White approach. ed. As we understand it, he sounded a warning, and was driving at a moderate rate of speed; but the unfortunate child failed to hear his horn, apparent- y. in time to get out of the road, and just as the car neared him, lie became confused and ran m he wrong direction, and on turn ing he came into contact with the fender of the car, which struck him in the eye, killing him instantly. From what we learn the tragedy was purely accident al, and we offer our deepest sym pathies to the family of the de ceased and to Mr. White as well. Little Leon leaves a father. 5 sisters, 3 brothers and numer ous relatives and friends to mourn his untimely death- Christmas Dance.
