Fatal Automobile Accident.
Leon, the G-year old son of Mr.
3. H. Patrick, a Promiment iar-
mer of the Scuppernong section
of this County, was instantly
killed Tuesday afternoon by an
automobile driven by Mr.
White of Columbia.
From what we can gather it
appears that school had just let
out, and number of the children
were on their way home, play
ing and frolicking with each
other when Mr. White approach.
ed. As we understand it, he
sounded a warning, and was
driving at a moderate rate of
speed; but the unfortunate child
failed to hear his horn, apparent-
y. in time to get out of the road,
and just as the car neared him,
lie became confused and ran m
he wrong direction, and on turn
ing he came into contact with
the fender of the car, which
struck him in the eye, killing him
instantly. From what we learn
the tragedy was purely accident
al, and we offer our deepest sym
pathies to the family of the de
ceased and to Mr. White as well.
Little Leon leaves a father.

ous relatives and friends to mourn
