THE ROANOKE BEACON C. V. W. AUSBON Fdiors and Publi.hera C. S. AUSBON PUBLISHED EVERY FRIDAY. Plymouth, N. C, Friday, January 19, 1917. HELP US GET IT RIGHT. Oar last issue might have left the impression that we have a j?rudge against Dr. B. F. Halsey of Roper. There were two ar ticles appearing in that issue in which Dr. Halsey's name should have appeared, but due to lack of information received by us it failed to appear. Dr. Halsey attended the ban quet given by Dr. W. H. VVard, but his name was not mentioned in the article referring to the oc casion. Our only excuse is that it was not on the list given us by one who did attend the affair We are sure, however, that his name was not omitted from the list intentionally. The tragedy at Scuppernong was investigated by ouresteemed friend, who is coroner of the county, but we failed to make note of the coroner's investiga tion, for the simple reason that wpro not thoroughly in formed. ' Editors, as a rule, do not know it all, and cannot get the important facts of an evnt by mental telepathy. And it is ab solutely necessary that informa tion be obtained from some source. It is impossible to chron icle all things in. a perfect man ner and get each detail accurate ly, unless som? person become? benevolent enough to donate the essential data concerning the subject. Don't cuss the editor simply because he fails to publish every thing you have done, unless, of course, you furnish him with necessary information relative to the incident or occasion. ' He likes to be cussed; it adds variety to his dull, lethargic life. If you must cuss him, for heaven's sake pick out something he should be cussed for. Back up and kick yourself if you fail to find an article in the paper bear ing upon your personal activities, and didn't give the paper a thought until after it was pub lished. We want to publish anything you do, of news value, and will take delight in so doing if you will only inform us.
