PRETTY WEDDING AT RQPEPw, A marriage of unusual inter est to the many friends of the family in Beaufort and Washing ton Counties, and conspicuous n like for its simplicitp and beauty was celebrated at Cedar Grove Farm, the splendid home of Mr, John E. Singleton near Roper, at eight o'clock on Wednesday evening, Jan. 24th., 11)17, v: r his daughter, Mrs. Delia Spru'.l1, became the bride of Mr. II :; o,; ah Chesson, Jr. Not-with ing the inclemency of l'; " ' er, the many friends nr.! t: - from both village and country side began to arrive early a:;d were welcomed in the good old fashioned way to the home abla::e with light, warmth and gcod cheer. The avenue of cedars, grounds and spacious verandas were well lighted and the hall and living rooms were tastefully and cleverly decorated with moss and evergreens. Mrs. Leon L. Lewis played the wedding march and the first to enter were little Misses Mary Peel and Esther Chesson, who were tollowed by Mr. Norm m Chesson, oldest son of the grjom and Miss Edna Spruill, only daughter of the bride. Then came the bride in a becoming costume of dark blue mesaline, with groom clad in conventional black and standing under the marriage bell in the center of the room were ma 1 one. Rev. N. L. Seubolt of the Methodist Church performing the ceremony. After many heart y congratulations and sincere good wishes, the bridal party was whisked away in waiting automobiles to the home of the groom on the outskirts of the village. The bride was the hap py recipient of a number of use ful gifts and remembrances from her many friends and relatives.
