A committee of ten men, com posed of business men and far mers of the county met with the Washington County Board of Agriculture at the Court House on Monday afternoon to formu late plans whereby the farmers and people in the county would be urged to increase the food production in the county. This committee of ten are men se lected as the advisory board of the Washington County Food Conservation Commission, which commission will work in co-operation with the Board of Agri culture, for the nurriose oi urg ing the increased production of feed does crops- lins commission not only propose to ure the growing or mere food er. ps, but also to aid the farmers in getting seed for fall crops, for mulate plans for mobilizing the idle labor, urge growing of bet ter home gardens, aid in canning and conserving the surplus of such crops, and to aid in any other way possible for this in creased production. This com mission is open for any good suggestions in which they may be of service to the people in the county. The plans this commission agreed upon Monday, was for two of each of the Food Com mission, together with the town ship members of the board of agriculture and any other farm ers that cared to, to make a can vass of the county by townships, to urge the growing of more food and feed crops. This com mission has set apaH next Tues day, May 15th, to go over the county to visit each and every farm in the county in the inter est of the increased food produc tion. This was followed with an il lustrated song and chorus: "Sol diers March." A number of boys dressed as soldiers, and carry ing rifles. the exercise was very path etic and aroused a feeling of pat riotism among the patrons, that our country needs more men to stand by its emble, "The Eagle" and that he shall still soar on wings of strength as in the past. Refreshments were served af ter the exercises were completed, from which $20.15 was realized, wh'ch placed to the credit of the piu.uo fund.
