When Mr. Clarence Latham left Plymouth to make his future home in Hendersonville last week, Plymouth and Washing ton County lost one of its most valuable and useful citizens, and Hendersonville has gained one it wnom time ana personal ac quaintance with only can cause it to properly appreciate and value. Tne cause of Mr. Latham's change of residence was the ill health of his family, which he hopes, and we trust will be ben efitted by a residence in the western part of the state. We learn that he has purchased a large laundry, ice and fuel busi ness in Hendersonville. and while we hope for and predict his success there, we realize that his sacrifice here has been great, for Mr. Latham has always been a bu3y man and his interests here were many. He is the own er of a large farm and also of the Plymouth Light & Ice plant, which he is now offering for sale, as well as his nice residence on Main Street and other prop erty in th'j citr. Since reaching his majority Mr. Latham has most acceptably filled che position as agent for the A. C. L. R, R. Co., and then as Postmaster here. For the past 17 years, or ever since its organization, has been cashier of the Bank of Plymouth, which position he resigned to make his change of residence. In the meantime, and in ad dition to his regular work, Mr. atham has served as Chairman of the Board of County Commis sioners. Chairman of the County Democratic Executive Commit teee. County Treasurer, member lymouth Commercial Clbb. and member of the School Board of rustees. He was Senior War den of Grace Episcopal Church, past Master of the local Masonic odge, past Excellent High Priest of the Roval ATTENTION!
