Get Your Liability Number, We are enclosing an insert in this issue giving the numbers of the first 166 numbers drawn by the selective draft officials at Washington last week, On the inside pages we are giving, also, the entire numbers, ps they were drawn, of the 10,509, Number "133" appearing on the insert should be "103." If your name does not appear on the insert, do not think that your name has not been drawn, for it has. The -vay we have ar ranged this list will give you a key to work by to determine your liability number. Begin to count each group of figures from the top, skipping any that are above 996. that being the number registering in this county, and the order by that method in which you find yours will give you your naoiucy nuiuuer that is, the number in which you are drawn to be called by the Ex empt ion Board. TO THE BOYS OF THE TOWNS OF WASHING TON COUNTY. .START A FALL GARDEN NOW. Don't neglect the garden, keep it going, for a good home garden not only supplies the family with fresh vegetables when you want then, but also cuts down the living expenses. Every family should have a good home garden and because the spring has pass ed dont let up on the garden, keep planting. There ar sever al vegetables that you can plant now for fall and winter use. Some of the vegetables that cen be planted in this month are given below: Transplan: tomatoes to the garden now, Transplant collards for winter use, Sow Bush Lima Beans for fall use, Transplant cabbage for a fall crop; Plant fall Irish potatoes ; and the fol lowing can be sown for a fall crop : Lettuce, field Peas, Rad ish in succession, and also Tur nips ; and for information on the fertilizers and preparation of the soil I will be glad to fur nish that on request. Don't allow any space in the garden to be idle, for the garden should be kept constantly in some, cop or other. Rotate and keep planting- Should your gar den produce more than you can use at your home and more than you can sell then, CAN IT- l would like for all members of the Washington County Board of Agriculture, and the Wash ington County Food Conserva tion Commission to meet with me in the. court room in Plymouth on Monday morning. August 6th at 10 o'clock. There are some very important matters to come before these organizations at thia time and it is hoped that every member will make an es pecial effort to attend this meet ing. Brown, State Director of the National Roys' Working Reserve, I am acting as local enrolling officer for Washington County. It is the purpose of the National Boys' Working Reserve to or ganize the boys of our towns and cities between the ages of 16 and 21, who are available for emergency farm labor. It is de sired that there be a large en rollment in the Boys' Working Reserve that labor may be avail able for the harvest of the food and feed crops this fall. Boys who successfully comply with the requirements of the organi zation will be awarded a Federal Badge, a very pretty bronze ' medal, indicating that they are a member of the National Or ganization which is rendering the Nation a necessary and pac riotic service.
