.MARRIED. The Newport News, (Va.) Daily Press of Sept. , 18th, con tains the following : SHAHTZER HARRISON. "The home of Mr. and Mrs. William C, Ritter, at the School for the Deaf and Blind, was the scene yesterday afternoon of a pretty wedding, when their sis ter, Miss Meta Harrison, became the bride of Sparrell Mansfield Shartzer, general yard master of the Seaboard Air Line at Hamlet, N. C. Following the Wedding Mr, and Mrs. Shartzer left for a visit in the North be fore going to their home in North Carolina." Little Miss Leslie Harrison Ritter acted as ring-bearer. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Andrews, formerly pastor of the Plymouth Baptist Church. - ' ' . Mr. and Mrs. Shartzer will be at lvmie it their new residence in Hamlet after Oct. 1st MT. TABOR SCHOOL OPENS. Mt Tabor School will open on October 1st, for the coming term. The citizens here have voted a special tax for the improvement of this school. This will give us longer terms and give the tea cher a better salary. We deem it proper to employ the best tea cher possible, and wj feel that we have done this by securing the services of Rev. J. H. Aber nethy of Creswell. All the parents are requested to- co-operate with the teacher and have their children attend as much as possible, and help us make this one of the best school years that we have ever known.
