During the latter part of Oc- lda to mulch the asparagus bed with stable manure and to clean up the gar den and scatter manure over all unused soil. In the mountain region, around November 5th, it is time to plant rhubarb. This is done by planting the root3 4 feet apart each way, and 3 to 4 inches deep in the drill. The Victoria variety is recommended. Palmetto asparagus could also be planted at this time by pla cing the crowns C to 10 inches deep and 18 inches apart in rows 4 feet apart. On November 15th, cabbage like the early Jersey Wake.idd variety, may be trans planted frofci the seel bed. On November 25 ih strawberries should be planted in rows 15 inches by 8 1-2 feet. Varieties recommended are the Klondyke, Lady Thompson, and Missionary, ALut this time, also, and along until the first week in December, seed catalogues should be ordered- and studied carefully for the purpose of selecting out the best varieties for the coming spring.
