The Creswell-Home Economics Club hela a very interesting 4 'Exhibition of War Cookery,' in which they displayed wheat and meat substitutes DR. JORDAN TO SPEAK. Arrangements have been made to have Dr. T. M. Jordan of the State Board of Health to lecture to the public in the interest of health matters to the people of Washington County. This will be a rare opportunity for our people, and know every one who hears these lectures will be pleased and instructed for their good. Bring your children. Horton, Chairman Belgian Relief Committee, Plym outh Red Cross Chapter. Returned to Plymouth. Twenty five yoara ago Mrs L. N Ho wcott, accompanied by her three children and sister, Mrs. Patlie Downing, left Plymouth to make her 'home wiiha brother in Washington, DC. At that time, besides those going with her. she had two brothers living in this county, one in Philadel phia and the one in Washington City. Now they are til dead, the last one;, her oldest son, dieing a few weeks ago, leaving her all alone in her old age (she being 84 years old) destitute and among comparative strangers However, Mr J M Arps who boarded with her when living in Plymouth, learning of her con dition and remembering with gratitude the kindnesses shown him by her in those days, at once sent for her and has taken her into his home to spend tne re mainder of her declining days ANNOUNCEMENT By order of President T. Ordered that Sanford Sexfon be relieved of 300.00 valuation of tax Ordered that Harrison Ches son's bid for keeping bridgt at Mackeys at $7.50 per month be accepted Ordered that Mrs. Lena Gur ganus be allowed $5 00 per month On recommendation by County Board of Education it is ordered that an election be held in every voting precinct in the county to levy a special tax of 30 cents on $100.00 valuation and 90 cents on the poll, to effect all the prop erty in the county not already paying a 30c. special tax or more. , Election to be held April 20, 1918.
