LOCAL NEWS. Mr. Jake Isler motored to New Bern last Sunday. Mr. Brown and Mr. 0. H. Lar ey of Beaufort, spent the past week-end here with friends. Mr. Onward Davis spent last Sunday in Jamesville with his parents. Messrs. LeRoy Harris, Surry Wright and Roy Davenport mot ored to Norfolk last Sunday. Miss Hazel Ausbon spent the past week-end in Rocky Mount visiting friends and relatives. Mr. Rasser Ed wards of Avden, spent the past week-end here with friends. Messrs. Wilbur Darden and L. H. Miss Velma Satterthwaite re turned Sunday from New Bern where she has been spending some lime with friends and re latives. r. Fred Ausbon, of Chapel Hill, spent tne week end with his parents, Mr and Mrs. C. V. W Ausbon. He was accompani ed by Mr, Junius Beard of Dur ham. Mr. John Neal of Kinston, was here the past week-end, being called on account of the sudden and tragic death of his brother in-law, Mr. L. P. Pinkham. Mr. and Mrs. 0. H. Lyon and Mr. and Mrs. E- G. Harrison motored to Swan Quarter Sunday where they spent the day with Miss Ruby Harrison who is teach ing at that place. Mrs. P. W. Brown left last Friday for Norfolk to take her little daughter, who is quite ill, to the hospital. She was accom nninod bv her mother, Mrs A. R. Dupree. Miss Neva Ausbon returned Friday morning from a visit to relatives in Hampton, Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Swain and children spent the week-end with his parents in Skinners ville. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Gurkin and Mrs. J. A. Willoughby mot ored to Wilson last Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Midgetfc and little daughter and Mrs. F. H. Midgett left Tuesday for their home in Kitty Hawk after spending several days here with Mr. and Mrs, W. Frank Midgett. Quite a number of our town folks attended court in Green ville last Friday. Mr. H J. Furbee was one of our visitors from Wenona last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Ray and children, of YVenona, were busi ness visitors here Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. N. Rosenthal, of YVenona, were in town last Sat-1 urday. Mr. Lloyd Horton spent last Sunday in Hertford, Quite a number of our high school boys and girls enjoyed a weenie roast on Tuesday even ing.
