White ®> Woodward BROTHER JORDAN ON SIN OF DANCING Sealed Editor Brevard News: I wish to say something, thru your excellent paper, on the great sins of the day, I have never heard the like of dancing in all the world, the state, if not the Nation has gone wild on dancing. The devil never invent ed a mors corrupt amusement than dancing. The whole tending of the dance leads to prostitution, adultery, fornication, death and hell. The dance is a hugging match set to music. The dance is a sexual love-' feast. Tho dancc i» the moral grave yard of more girls than anything else in the world. The dance is the dry rot of society. I say it is immoral. Do you know that three-fourths of all the girls who'are ruined owe their downfll to that very thing. The dance is the hotbed of immorality, and I un- rlinchingly denounce it as one of the greatest social evils in the world. We have “Charity Balls” and I thinlc that they are the biggest insult to God Al mighty and dencency that Cod Al- upon. Avo you so low down that you would not give a dollar to chriiy un less they got up a danco? You say you need tho exercise of dancing. Passion is the basis of the popularity of the dance. " Make men dance by themselves and women by themselves and it will kill the dance as dead as a UKickercl in a month. Take out sex and there will be no dance. The head of the home for fallen girls at Ceneva said that 80 per cent came there because of the dance. Sev'en million girls go wrong in a centenury in this country and 3-4 of them arc ruined by the dance. The chief of police of New York says i three-fovirths of the abandoned creatures there fell thru the dance. The devil is in the dance from the start to finish. More anon. F. M. JORDAN, Calvert, N. C.
