CHURCH workers GIVE EN
The ladies of the Baptist Church
entertained the men of the church on
Thursday evening at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. T. L. Snelson. During the
evening the members of the T. E. L.
Class presented a large cake to Mrs.
P. S. King as an expression of their
appreciation of her faithful service as
president of the class for the past
five years, during which time the
class has more than doubled its mem
bership and made a remarkable re
cord in each phase of its work. In
thanking her friends for their gift
Mrs. King stated that the president
of an organization could accomplish
very little without the loyal support
of the member and she felt that the
present efficiency of the T. E. L. Class
was principally due to the untiring
zeal of its members. At the close of
her remarks Mrs. King cut the cake
and sent a portion of it to each mem
ber of the class who was unable to be
present at the affair last Thursday

Here’s to the boys who have homeward come
With their faces sunburned brown.
Who quietly slipped in, one by one
To the old familiar tovm.
Here’s to the boys who are on their way;
Who are crossing the water blue;
And here’s to the boys who still must stay
In the ranks of the tried and true.
Here’s to the boys now sleeping so well
On the ields wh*re the poppies bloom;
They have heard the welcome like chiming bell;
In the land beyo nd the tomb.
