They all spoke in glowing terms of the beauty of Brevard and surrounding country. Mrs. Mary Mills has accepted a position in Carson Long Institute, New Bloomfield, Pa. Her son Charles will join her later and enter school at that place. Charles Rozzelle was among the Hendersonville visitors here this week. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Stanton and son and daughter who'have been at the Hunt Cottages for several weeks returned on Wednesday to their home in New Orleans. Henry Loop of Hendersonville was in town during the week. Miss Martha Boswell of Asheville is the guest of Miss Delia Gash. Born—to Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Mc- lean of Whither, Cal. on Sept -the 6th a son, Robert Clay, Junior. The many friends of Mrs. Robert Patton will be glad to know that she is rccovcring from her recent illness. Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Smedberg have returned from a visit to *Tryon. iss Miriam Silversteen has gone to Raleigh, N. C. where she will at tend St. I^Iary’s College. J. C. Whitmire, the progressive merchant of Cherryfield is having a new coat of paint put on his building and other changes made which will greatly improve the appearence of his property and doubtless help to make Cherryfield more popular than ever as a trading center. Mr. and Mrs. Viohl and family, who hi'iVc beer spending their vacation at Inn have returned to their home in Charleston, S. C. Mrs. J. E. Ronlhoc has returned to her Miss Septima Holmes of Charles ton, S. C. who has been spending a short time at her summ.er home at Flat Rock, arrived this week and will be the guest of Miss Eliza Wallis for some time. Col. Coziac, who became suddenly and desperately ill last Sunday morn ing and was taken to an Asheville hospital, is recovering satisfactorily from the opertion which ^ he under went Monday. His wife and daugh ter, Mrs. Johnson, are with him in Asheville. Col. and Mrs. Coziac, who are residents of Charleston, S. C. spent their second season here this ummer and have many friends among residents and visitors. Mrs. Frank DeVane and daughter. Miss Josephine, who have been spend ing the summer with Mrs. C. M. Cooke, left Monday for a visit to Statesville, N. C. en route to their home in Washington City. Mrs. Harvey Smi£h, who has been for some time at Norwood House, left Sunday for a visit to Asheville friends before going to her home in Chester, S. C. for the winter. Supt. A. F. Mitchell and H. L. Wilson, the recently elected County Welfare Officers, left Tuesday to at tend the state welfare conference which convenes this week at the state university at Chapel Hill. Mrs. Fuller and daughter, Miss Mina, v.’ho have been with Mrs. J. R. Boone for the summer will leave next week for their home in Eustis, Fla.
