Galloway gave a social Friday night which was en joyed by quite a number of young folks. Various games were played, after which ice cream and cake were served. Miss Kitty Batson is visiting friends at Piedmont, S. C. ■ Greenwood Methodist church has been torn down an^ moved to Selica. Calvert school has started again after stopping one week for fodder. Effective September 28, the Asheville-Atlanta sleeper and the Asheville-New Orleans sleeper (via Atlanta) will leave Asheville on Train No. 10, at 3:30 p. m., instead of Train No. 4, as at present.
