W. L BISHOP & COMPANY V / Milas Hill of Flat Rock, who is somewhat perturbed by the surgar shortage in this country has decided l|o start a show of his own. He is raising: the' sugar beet to beat the band. Recently he sent a sample of the sugar beet he had grown to the agricultural department at Washing ton with a request that the proper authorities dissect the beet, diagnose the contents and let him know if there was enough sugar in that variety of beet to justify his raising sugar beets on a large scale. If the answer is favorable Mr. Hill expects to cultivate the beet exten sively and later interest others with a view of establishing a plant for the manufacture of sugar. M RESOLUTIONS On the morning of November the 11th, 1919, the Angel of death visited the home of Brother J. T. Gillespie, claiming the life of his little 11 year old daughter. Flora. Flora had put herself under the watch-care of the Jlosman Baptist Church and was a faithful member of our Sunday School. She was a bright, promising little girl and was dearly loved by all who knew her. We are sad because this loving little life, which had s< entwined itself about our heart, has SO soon been taken away. Therefore be it resolved: First—That we, the members of the Rosman Baptist Sunday School, ex tend our heartfelt sympathy to her beloved father, mother, brothers and sisters in this sad hour of bereavment and pray that they may not sorrow as those without hope, “knowing there remains a rest for the people of God.” Second—That a copy of these resol utions be sjiread upon the minutes of our Sunday School and a copy be sent to The Brevard Nev/s for publica tion.
