THE BIRDS’ CHRISTMAS TREE.
To make a birds' Christmas tree,
take an evergrt»en. if possible. Imt any
kind of tree will do if you tie sheaves
of wheat, corn-stalks and evergreen
branches all over it to make it dense.
If it is a large trees plant It securely
in a jiartially protected place. A small
er trc'e can be put on the feeding shelf
outside your window. Hang on it wire
baskets filled witii suet, boxes with
fronts rem<»ved. containing nut meats,
millet, suntlower-seeds, wheat, cracked
corn. bread-crv:mbs, rolled oats, etc.
Coconut shells cut in lialf and tilled
with dainties that the birds love can
also be hung from the branches. Have
several sln'Iv(‘s on which i>lace apples,
lettuce, cabbage and vegetnbles.
In all cold districts, have at least
one or two deep boxe.s almost filled
with c'otton where the half-frozen birds
can find shelter and warmth. Many
birds suffcn- from thirst durir.g the wMn-
ter. Heat a brick or large stone and
place a pan of water on it.
Calomel is a dangerous drug. It is
mercury—quicksilver; and attacks your
bones. Take a dose of nasty calomel to
day and you will feel weak, sick and nau
seated tomorrow. Don’t lose a day’s
work.
DECGRATING FOR CHRISTMAS
Take “Dodson’s Liver Tone” Instead 1
Here’s my guarantee! Ask your
druggist for a bottle of Dodson’s
Liver Tone and take a spoonful to-
aight. If it doesn’t start your liver
and straighten you right up better
than calomel and without griping or
aal^g you sick I want you to go
back to the store and get your money.
Take a spoonful of harmless, vege
table Dodson’s Liver Tone tonight anu
wake up fceliag great. It’s perfectly
harmless, .'lo give it to your children
any time. It can’t salivate, so
them eat anytiuQg afterwards.

The Real Christmas.
The real Christmas is an invisible
presenc(‘, a joyful glance of the eye, a
wonderful expansion of the heart, a
sense of conirades«hip with all man
kind. It is an abandonment of our
selves to all good impulses and an al
most reckless waste of good feeling
and generosity niul love, and no army
of pessimists can banish that kind of
Christmas from oiu‘ hearts.
