THE HEN THAT CAN COUNT
NO FURTHER THAN SIX
Mr. Walter Whitmire says "My old
hen has at last gone to laying again.
This time she stole her nest out and
when I took her fcggs away she quit
and moved her nest. I then took
some nice, smooth round rocks, and
each time I took out an egg put in
a rock. This I did until I had put
in six stones, then left off putting
any more stones in, it not being nec
essary as the hen could not count
but six. '
He further stated, "I might have
been married long, long ago, but the
